| Bio: | What are the Tuesday Nite "Fites?" The Tuesday Nite "Fites" are a war of concepts. The staging of conceptual warfare is essential to unravelling the mysteries of the universe we live in. Every Tuesday Nite, a war-room committee here at St. John's College matches up eight conceptual heavy-hitters into four "Fites." They are structured like this: 1. THE TITLE FITE (Always in all caps) 2. The 2-Hole (Usually conceptually powerful, like the Title) 3. The Brian Jones Fite (Known for its characteristic sexiness, mundanity, or absurdity, like its namesake Brian T. Jones) 4. The Seminar Fite (Inspired by the Senior Seminar reading of the week) But what of that? Because this is a war of concepts, you need to choose which concept you deem superior in each of the four battles. The TNF Motto is "Do what you do, but think it through," and deliberation and argument are not only encouraged, but just about required. Stroll through the journal to see the type of thinking necessary to be a successful fiter. You should be able to give an account of your decision, and you should review each contender as a CONCEPT, strolling through all possible interpretations to arrive at your decision. How do I vote? Anyone can vote, provided you follow the guidelines (those stated above, and those that follow). It's simple. For all you Johnnies, come to the Nelson Room of Barr-Buchanan between 9PM and 12AM every Tuesday Nite. Or, if you're off-site Instant Message your votes. The away message of the screen name TuesdayNiteFites will be the full lineup card. If you are a first-time voter, make sure to state your full name, and the fact that you are a first time voter.
